Job Title: Mechatronics Technician III – Lead Mechanical Machine Builder
Location: Bradenton, Fl
Compensation: $28–$32/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled Mechanical/Mechatronics to join our growing team of assembly experts. In this senior-level role, you’ll be assembling, debugging, and commissioning custom automated and packaging machinery from the ground up—no maintenance or repetitive work. You will serve as a hands-on builder, technical resource, and mentor, driving innovation on our manufacturing floor.
Key Duties
- Machine Assembly
- Independently build complex machines from scratch per company standards
- Assemble frames, mechanical stations, sub-assemblies, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control systems.
- Redline drawings, provide actionable feedback, and collaborate closely with engineering.
- Debug & Troubleshooting
- Lead machine debug efforts, diagnose, and resolve complex mechanical and functional issues.
- Test, troubleshoot, and commission new machinery.
- Interface with PLCs and controls at a functional level (read ladder logic, interpret fault codes).
- Fabrication & Process Improvement
- Perform intermediate fabrication (manual mill/lathe, welding, plasma cutting).
- Identify and drive improvements in assembly processes and standards.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor Tech I and Tech II employees.
- Lead by example in workmanship, safety, and company values.
Qualifications (Required)
- 5–10 years of hands-on machine building experience (NOT maintenance or production line assembly).
- Proven expertise in building automated machines from scratch, not just working from plans.
- Deep mechanical skills – frame and assembly building, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Experience in a custom machine-building environment.
- Experience with intermediate-level electrical assembly, wiring, and controls/interface.
- Operation of basic fabrication equipment.
Note: This role emphasizes high-level, mechanical machine building from scratch—NOT maintenance or repetitive assembly. Candidates with only maintenance experience will not be considered.
