Quality Inspector
Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Quality Inspector for a 6-month contract-to-hire position at our Downers Grove, IL based client. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

Pay: $26.00-30.00 per hour plus $3.00 shift differential for 2nd
Overview
Our client is an aerospace and defense supplier that has close tolerance machining and electro-mechanical assembly operations. Due to continued growth, they adding additional inspectors to their team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet military and aerospace AS9100 quality standards and specifications. Your expertise in GD&T and precision measurement tools like calipers will be crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect components and assemblies using GD&T principles to ensure compliance with all engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspect supplier documentation such as Certificates of Conformance
- Utilize calipers, micrometers, CMM and other precision measuring instruments to measure parts for conformance to specifications.
- Interpret technical documents, including blueprints, and schematic drawings to identify measurement requirements.
- Record inspection results, complete inspection reports, and maintain records of quality checks.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending changes to improve the manufacturing and quality processes.
- Participate in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Additional certification or education in engineering or quality is a plus.
- Strong experience with reading close tolerance blueprints including identification and interpretation of GD&T symbols, terms, and concepts, required.
- Ability to read schematics, a plus

- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and gages is required. Any CMM operation (a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in a dimensional quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment, in any of the following industries: preferably in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or other industry with strict documentation standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
