Location: Wood Dale, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $24.00–$28.00 per hour
Duration: Permanent position with benefits
About the Opportunity
We are a precision manufacturing company specializing in custom metal fabrication, machining, and complex component production for a variety of industries. We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Inspector to join our Quality team and help ensure that products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in manufacturing quality systems, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives who enjoys working closely with production teams to maintain the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving inspections on raw materials, hardware, and outside-processed components.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of quality documentation.
- Conduct internal audits according to the audit schedule and report findings to Quality leadership.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Perform setup inspections and in-process inspections throughout production.
- Train production personnel on quality requirements and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Ability to operate inspection equipment commonly used in a quality lab environment.
- Strong understanding of inspection methods and quality verification processes.
- Ability to communicate quality requirements effectively with production personnel.
- Experience using quality work instructions, procedures, and inspection forms.
Required Knowledge
- Experience creating and operating CMM programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and standard operating procedures.
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the manufacturing facility as needed.
