Title: Test Engineering Technician
Location: Byhalia, MS
Job Type: Contract to Hire – 6-12 Months (Full Benefits/PTO Included during contract)
Pay Rate: $30/HR

SUMMARY
The Test Engineering Technician independently performs electrical and functional tests and provides technical support to Test Engineers and Manufacturing Test Operators. Performs testing on high-voltage, low-voltage, and pressure-based systems and assists with troubleshooting, equipment setup, and test station sustainment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently perform electrical and functional testing including:

  • 480VAC and 120VAC electrical power and functional testing

  • 24VDC control systems and interlock validation

  • Hipot / dielectric withstand testing

  • Pressure testing, leak detection, pre-air, and vacuum testing

  • Safety interlocks and emergency stop validation

  • Set up, configure, and verify test stations for production.

  • Assist with troubleshooting test failures and equipment issues.

  • Support Test Engineers with test validation and process improvements.

  • Verify equipment calibration and readiness.

  • Train and support Test Engineering Technician I personnel.

  • Maintain accurate test documentation and logs.

  • Lead creation, review, and modification of test work instructions for complex or safety-critical test processes.

  • Ensure work instructions fully capture electrical safety, pressure safety, interlocks, and risk controls.

  • Validate work instructions through test execution, peer review, and production trials.

  • Serve as a technical reviewer and approve (as delegated) for work instruction changes.

  • Mentor Technician I and II personnel on proper use and continuous improvement of work instructions.

  • Partner with Test Engineers to ensure documentation aligns with test intent and compliance requirements.

  • Support training of operators using updated work instructions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing test or technical support jobs.

  • Able to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications.
