Contract Type: 6 month contract
Pay Rate: $24.00–$25.00/hour (based on education and experience)
Position Overview
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Production Chemist I for a temporary opportunity with an established scientific manufacturing organization in the Atlanta area. This role is ideal for an early-career chemistry professional looking to gain hands-on experience in laboratory production, quality systems, and regulated manufacturing environments.
The Production Chemist I will support the preparation and manufacturing of calibration standards, proficiency testing samples, and other laboratory products while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This position offers a diverse mix of laboratory, production, and quality-related responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture calibration standards and proficiency testing samples.
- Support production of materials used in laboratory testing and traceability programs.
- Review and sign Certificates of Calibration.
- Inspect incoming materials and supplies.
- Prepare, print, and apply product labels.
- Prepare carrier solutions, mixing agents, and acid dilutions.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance of laboratory balances and instrumentation.
- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware, workspaces, and equipment.
- Receive, stock, and organize laboratory supplies and materials.
- Assist with assembly and preparation of laboratory products and components.
- Support radioactive waste management, contamination surveys, and minor spill decontamination activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Follow Quality Management System requirements and support compliance with applicable quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- At least one year of general wet laboratory experience (academic or industry experience considered).
- Basic laboratory skills and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality systems and documentation practices.
- Experience working with power tools, machinery, or laboratory equipment.
