Location:
Elgin, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Salary: $100,000 – $106,000 (Exempt)

Position Summary
KELLY is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations while leading and supporting the maintenance team. This role combines hands?on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with work order management, prioritization, and team leadership to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Maintenance Manager and operates independently to make sound decisions supporting plant operations.


Essential Lead Responsibilities

  • Assign daily work orders to maintenance team members

  • Track and follow up on work order progress and completion timelines

  • Verify accurate labor, parts, and time entries within the CMMS/work order system

  • Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and project execution

  • Prioritize breakdowns, repairs, and projects in coordination with the Maintenance Manager

  • Work independently and exercise judgment when responding to maintenance needs

Essential Technical Responsibilities

Mechanical Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Identify and repair air, water, glue, oil, and steam leaks

  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps and pump systems

  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace cylinders

  • Work with a wide variety of mechanical hardware, fasteners, and components

  • Fabricate and repair damaged parts using welding, fastening, and machining methods

  • Assist with mechanical preventive maintenance (PMs)

  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment, racking, and machinery

  • Work with bearings, bushings, sprockets, chains, belts, pulleys, tensioners, and lacers

  • Apply proper tolerances, squareness, and parallel alignment

  • Lead setup and rigging for roll changes and major repairs

  • Read and interpret mechanical prints and schematics

  • Understand machine operation to quickly diagnose issues and determine effective repair solutions

Electrical Troubleshooting

  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs

  • Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, and service technicians

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility for overtime or weekend work as needed

  • Take initiative to learn new skills and support team members

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • 10+ years of industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance experience preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid understanding of industrial facilities (mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems)

  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

  • Fluent in reading schematics and blueprints

  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel a plus

  • Experience with industrial drives and maintenance software preferred

  • English proficiency required for safety, training, and communication
