Kelly Services is hiring for an Inventory Control Technician in Carrollton, TX.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $20+/hour

Responsible for measuring and weighing every item in the Distribution Center using provided scanning and dimensioning equipment. This is a high-detail, high-impact warehouse role focused on accurate inventory dimensions and weights to support inventory control, shipping accuracy, and downstream systems.

Primary responsibilities

  • Accurately measure and weigh all inbound and/or stored inventory using handheld scanners and dimensioning equipment supplied by the company.

  • Record and verify dimensions and weights in the DC inventory system; correct any discrepancies and escalate when needed.

  •  Operate powered industrial trucks (PITs) including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and cherry pickers to access stock safely and efficiently.

  •  Perform cycle counts or other inventory audits as assigned to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Collaborate with warehouse leads, inventory control, and shipping teams to resolve measurement/weight issues and to ensure accurate item master data.

  • Inspect items for damage or inconsistencies while measuring; document and report exceptions per DC procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, safe working area around measurement equipment and follow all site safety and equipment operation policies.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to increase throughput and accuracy of measurement processes.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Strong computer skills; comfortable using warehouse management systems and handheld scanning/dimensioning devices.

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment / PITs (sit-down, stand-up, order picker, cherry picker).

  • Highly detail oriented

  • Accuracy is critical; MUST HAVE.

  • Background in inventory control or similar role with demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Warehouse associate experience at a high level ¿ familiarity with inventory processes, receiving, storage, and shipping.

  • Ability to lift and move material as required by site safety limits and to maneuver in racking environments.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple DC teams.

Preferred

  • Previous experience with dimensioning/scanning equipment.

  • Experience performing or supporting inventory audits, cycle counts, or data correction workflows.

  • Forklift certification and/or PIT operator certification.
