About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize paper converting operations. This role is critical to improving machine performance, reducing waste, and driving process efficiency across multiple converting processes, including sheeting, coating, laminating, slitting, and rewinding.
The ideal candidate enjoys working directly on the production floor, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and solving real-time manufacturing challenges that have a direct impact on operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Improve machine uptime, efficiency, and overall equipment performance through process optimization and equipment enhancements.

Support a variety of paper converting operations including sheeting, coating, laminating, slitting, and rewinding.

Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement solutions.

Lead root cause analysis investigations and drive sustainable corrective actions.

Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Analyze production metrics to identify opportunities for increased throughput, improved yield, and scrap reduction.

Support preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.

Lead process validation activities and support new product development efforts.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.

Experience within paper converting, packaging, printing, or similar manufacturing industries preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with converting equipment such as sheeters, coater/laminators, slitters, and rewinders.

Familiarity with PLC systems and basic automation troubleshooting.

Knowledge of paper materials, web handling processes, and converting operations.
