Job Title: 3D Printer Operator
Location: Roselle IL 60172
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (1st Shift)
Occasional Saturday work and overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Contract: Temp to hire (Start ASAP)

Position Summary:
As an Additive Lab Technician (3D Printer Operator), you will be responsible for operating and maintaining 3D printers in an industrial setting. Core duties include print setup and breakdown, slicing STL models, optimizing printer capacity, ensuring print quality, and supporting daily manufacturing and prototyping needs. You’ll work hands-on with 3D equipment, perform part finishing, and participate in continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 1–4 years’ experience operating and maintaining 3D printers

  • Experience in development or technical support of industrial equipment a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics

  • Proficiency using MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Navision ERP

  • Experience in SharePoint, Prusa Slicer, Markforged Eiger, or similar slicer platforms required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to read blueprints and use basic measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, micrometer)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to wear own steel-toed boots; other PPE will be provided onsite

Core Responsibilities:

  • Slice STL models using common slicers (Prusa, Markforged Eiger, etc.)

  • Optimize printer capacity and balance quality with print speed

  • Operate 3D printers—load/unload programs and materials

  • Maintain printers, including nozzle changes, hot end rebuilds, and general upkeep

  • Perform finished part operations (sanding, filing, removing supports, installing inserts)

  • Provide system cost estimates for new parts

  • Read blueprints and perform quality inspection of key dimensions

  • Use basic assembly and measurement tools

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment, following 6S principles

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
