Shipping/Receiving Worker – Material Control Coordinator
Location: Devens MA
Salary: $31.00/hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping/Receiving Worker – Material Control Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing material control processes while adhering to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Environmental, Health, and Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all EHS policies, practices, and procedures related to department-specific responsibilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying EHS standards and contribute to audit readiness.
- Participate in EHS audits with internal company groups, regulatory agencies, and customers.
- Report all near misses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences through appropriate company procedures to initiate investigations.
- Cooperate with root cause investigations and ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
- Support the company’s commitment to environmental health and safety by applying ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and Sustainability 2025 principles in daily activities.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands to operate tools or controls; perform actions such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as necessary.
- Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds using material handling equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include near, distance, peripheral vision, color perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly works with moving mechanical parts and may handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Work may be performed in humid areas with varying temperatures, and noise levels can vary depending on the area of work.
- Travel between two company locations is necessary.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:
Essential:
- High School Diploma with 4-6 years of experience in hazardous material handling and shipping, both domestic and international, within a pharmaceutical or chemical environment.
- Experience in a production environment in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Working knowledge of electronic material control systems and related financial and purchasing software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask.
- Highly self-motivated with prior forklift certification.
- DOT/IATA training in packaging, labeling, and shipment of hazardous materials, both domestic and international.
- Good understanding of GMPs and FDA regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valued:
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Specialized training in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain principles.
- RCRA training.
- Familiarity with D365 quality systems and Master Control P.
