A Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
Job Summary
The Slitting Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring slitting equipment used to cut large rolls of material into specific widths. This role ensures product quality, accurate measurements, safe machine operation, and efficient production flow in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate slitting machines according to work orders and specifications
- Load and unload large rolls of material using appropriate handling equipment
- Adjust machine settings such as blade alignment, tension, and speed
- Monitor production during operation to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Inspect finished rolls for defects, correct dimensions, and overall quality
- Measure materials using standard measuring tools
- Record production data, scrap, and quality checks
- Label, package, and prepare finished rolls for the next stage or shipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area following all safety procedures
- Perform basic machine cleaning and routine upkeep
Required Skills / Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
- Ability to read work instructions and follow production orders
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
