What’s a typical day as a Coater Technician? You’ll be:
- Setting up and operating a coating machine to apply solutions to continuous sheet materials, ensuring products meet specific tolerances and specifications
- Loading and unloading rolls of material onto the machine, regulating speed, and adjusting the amount of solution applied
- Troubleshooting coating and machine problems, making necessary corrections, and coordinating with quality control and group leaders
- Identifying, packing, and moving hazardous materials according to safety procedures
- Cleaning up the machine for the next product run and maintaining a clean work area in accordance with safety, housekeeping, and environmental policies
- Performing quality assurance testing, visual inspections, and documenting production, process, and quality data
- Training other personnel when qualified and authorized to do so
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have at least 1 year of experience as a Coater/Mixer Trainee or equivalent machine operator experience (required)
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Are able to lift up to 50 lbs and have manual and visual dexterity
- Have strong communication and organizational skills, and can adapt to changing priorities
- Are comfortable working around moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures
- Have a working knowledge of applicable quality management system (QMS) procedures and problem-solving methods
- Forklift operation experience and good PC skills are preferred
