Kelly® Engineering is seeking Mechanical and Electrical Service Technicians for a contract opportunity with a growing industrial filtration and dust-collection equipment manufacturer in Troy, Michigan.
Compensation
$24-$30/hr. based on experience and skill set
Overview
Our client is a global manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial dust-collection and filtration systems used in automotive, aerospace, additive manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food-production, and other advanced manufacturing environments. With a significant increase in system demand expected this fall, the team needs additional hands-on support to assemble, wire, and test multiple filtration systems concurrently.
This role supports the in-shop assembly, wiring, and testing of custom industrial dust-collection and filtration systems. Technicians will work from detailed mechanical prints and electrical schematics to assemble components, route and terminate wiring, and support complete system buildouts. The position requires strong hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Assemble automated industrial dust-collection and filtration systems in the Troy shop.
- Follow mechanical prints, electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and system documentation.
- Complete industrial wiring, cable routing, wire landing, crimping, soldering, and cable organization, as applicable.
- Assemble and bolt together mechanical, sheet-metal, and equipment components.
- Support complete system buildout and in-house testing while maintaining clean, accurate, and organized workmanship.
- Shift between multiple systems and priorities as production volume increases.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of hands-on technical experience preferred in areas such as:
- Field service
- Industrial maintenance
- Mechanical or electrical assembly
- Machine building
- Industrial equipment support
- Automation or manufacturing environments
- Field service
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred
- Ability to read technical prints, schematics, and engineering drawings; candidates may be asked to interpret one during the interview.
- Dependable, punctual, personable, and attentive to workmanship, safety, organization, timekeeping, and communication.
