Location: Thomaston, Connecticut
Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday
Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $150,000–$175,000+ DOE
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship
Compensation Package:
Compensation package includes base salary, profit sharing, bonus, 401K matching, and company funded health insurance deductible. In addition, pays 100% of employee medical insurance premiums so that there is no contribution by the employee.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to oversee our quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems and will be responsible for implementing quality control measures. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety and will foster an environment of mutual respect and cooperation across all departments. This position reports directly to the COO and is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining an efficient Management System that is compliant with the current version of ISO 9001 and any applicable, specific customer or contract requirements.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with the current revision of the ISO 9001 standard, customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an effective internal audit and corrective action system.
- Lead the QA/QC team in performing quality control tests and evaluations on products throughout the production process.
- Conduct ISO 9001 Management Reviews.
- Manage documentation related to quality management systems, including reports on inspections, audits, and non-conformances.
- Review all contracts and assist the Contracts Dept in ensuring requirements are flowed down to various departments.
- Ensure all applicable quality requirements are flowed down to suppliers.
- Maintain a calibration system in compliance with ISO10012-1 and the General Requirements of ANSI/NCSL-Z540-1.
- Review and approve all quality, production and engineering documents, including changes, that affect the management system.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Contracts, Purchasing and Materials to coordinate activities and address problems.
- Drive supplier monitoring and any required improvement activities.
- Train staff on quality assurance policies and procedures as applicable to their job function.
- Serve as liaison between the company and interested government and customer quality assurance representatives.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Oversee project management initiatives related to quality improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related field, or Quality Manager Certification, preferred.
- Proven experience in quality assurance management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques, audits, and control processes.
- Strong understanding of the requirements of, implementation of, ISO 9001 standard requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying issues and implementing solutions.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively.
- Proficient in project management methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiar with interpreting and complying with Government Contracts.
- Basic PC skills including MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of inspection equipment and calibration techniques.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing drawings.
- Strong background in manufacturing/assembly concepts.
- Five (5) years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control Management or Supervision experience.
