(Temp-to-Hire)

Burlington, MA (On-Site) 8am-5pm

Payrate: $55.00-80.00/hour DOE

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Burlington, MA. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for a highly analytical accounting professional with strong financial reporting, cost accounting, and government contract accounting experience. The role reports directly to the Controller and will support a variety of accounting and financial functions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial data and reporting for contracts, including tracking project costs, labor, travel, and other direct expenses.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.

  • Create and manage purchase requests and purchase orders for vendors and subcontractors.

  • Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.

  • Monitor timesheets, labor allocations, travel expenses, and contract-related costs.

  • Prepare and review invoices while supporting full-cycle Accounts Receivable functions.

  • Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to support business decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial and contractual requirements.

  • Assist Controller with Month End Close

  • Assist with business insurance, stock program, SAMS renewals, GSA Mods processing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required

  • 5-10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including cost accounting and financial analysis.

  • Government contracting and/or DOD contract accounting experience required

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with Unanet or other DCAA-compliant accounting systems is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and credit check.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
