Senior Production Planner

Up to $55.00/hr | Start ASAP | 6-Month Contract (Temp-to-Perm Potential)

Are you a seasoned Production Planner who thrives in fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environments? We’re seeking a Senior Production Planner to take ownership of master scheduling, material flow, and production coordination across multiple manufacturing cells.
This is a high-impact role where your planning expertise directly drives on-time delivery, inventory efficiency, and production performance.


What You’ll Do

  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across multiple manufacturing cells

  • Analyze material availability, capacity, lead times, and demand to confirm realistic delivery dates

  • Release and coordinate work orders to optimize factory flow and meet customer commitments

  • Monitor and manage raw material and subassembly inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess

  • Partner with Supply Chain to communicate material constraints and adjust delivery forecasts

  • Support quoting, configuration, and ERP data entry for new assemblies and product builds

  • Maintain accurate BOMs by collaborating with Engineering on revisions and ECO implementation

  • Ensure timely execution of Engineering Change Orders across active production orders

  • Work closely with warehouse and production teams to prioritize material movement and picking

  • Provide regular status updates to production leaders, cell managers, and project teams

  • Analyze key production metrics such as capacity utilization, throughput, and efficiency

  • Support return, restock, and disposition of canceled or excess materials

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling accuracy and planning efficiency

  • Mentor junior planners and contribute to long-term capacity planning strategies

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of production planning or supply chain experience

  • Strong background in multi-cell or complex manufacturing environments

  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume production environments (strong plus)

  • Deep understanding of scheduling, MRP, and inventory planning principles

  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
