Industrial Maintenance Technician
Kelly Services is hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a food-processing facility.
Pay: $22–$28 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.
Training: Candidates will train on first shift before transitioning to second shift
Shift Flexibility: Must be willing to work second or third shift when needed
Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment overhauls throughout the facility. This role supports production equipment and related electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment overhauls.
- Diagnose issues involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Monitor equipment operation and follow established operating and safety procedures.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, reports, and other required documentation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, preventive maintenance instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout, confined-space procedures, hazard communication, PPE requirements, and emergency protocols.
- Participate in required safety meetings and company-sponsored training.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and changing production needs.
- Perform basic facility maintenance, which may include plumbing, HVAC, and concrete repair.
- Complete additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two to three years of related industrial maintenance experience or training required.
- Associate degree in electromechanical technology, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Proven troubleshooting experience with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and equipment schematics required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic or written records.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and safety-focused.
- Ability to communicate professionally, handle conflict appropriately, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to pass any examinations or assessments required to perform the position’s essential duties.
Preferred Experience
- Maintenance experience within a food-processing or manufacturing facility.
- Sanitary pipe-welding experience.
- Experience working with distributed control systems.
- Steam boiler and plant air-compressor system experience.
- HVAC, plumbing, concrete repair, or general building-maintenance experience.
