Location: Los Angeles, CA
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $30.00
Position Summary
The Transplant Financial Coordinator (TFC) is an essential member of the multidisciplinary transplant team. This position is responsible for insurance verification and authorization processing for transplant patients, ensuring financial clearance and supporting optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations for transplant procedures and related services.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding insurance coverage, including guidance when coverage is lapsed or insufficient.
- Analyze complex insurance data, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication with patients and staff.
- Support continuous process improvements to enhance workflows in patient financial services.
- Maintain accurate records and data entry within relevant hospital and transplant systems.
Qualifications
Required:
- Professional appearance with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of medical insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field (may substitute two years of financial experience, with at least one year in transplant financial coordination).
- Experience in transplant finance; heart transplant experience highly preferred.
- Bilingual fluency, especially in English and Spanish.
- Prior experience in the medical field, particularly in transplant-related finance.
