Industrial Maintenance Technician | $26-$31/hr | A & B Shifts Available
Location: Rochester, NY (not on a bus line access)
Pay: $26.00-$31.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire (Based on Experience)
Shifts Available:
- A Shift: 8-hour shifts with start times between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM
- B Shift: 2:30 PM-10:30 PM or 3:00 PM-11:30 PM (Includes a 10% Shift Differential)
Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support advanced manufacturing equipment in a high-tech precision manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining thin-film coating equipment, vacuum systems, CNC machining equipment, and facility systems to maximize equipment reliability and production uptime.
Experience with optics manufacturing or vacuum coating equipment is preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair thin-film coating systems, vacuum equipment, CNC machinery, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic equipment issues.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment failures.
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist with maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, and chilled water systems.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve equipment performance and uptime.
- Use diagnostic and precision measurement equipment to troubleshoot machinery.
- Complete maintenance documentation while following all safety and quality procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with high-vacuum deposition equipment, or 6+ years of related industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems.
- Experience maintaining CNC machining or automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Optics manufacturing, thin-film coating, or vacuum systems experience is highly preferred.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrophotometers, interferometers, or similar test equipment is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.
