Lens Coating Technician I | 2nd Shift | Weekly Pay | Temp-to-Hire

Location: West Henrietta, NY

Pay: $21.00–$24.00/hour (based on experience) + 10% Shift Premium

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:30 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Kelly® Professional & Industrial is hiring Lens Coating Technician I candidates for a premier optics manufacturer in West Henrietta, NY. This is a hands-on, temp-to-hire opportunity for individuals who enjoy technology, precision manufacturing, and learning specialized production processes. Manufacturing experience is preferred, but optics experience is not required.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply precision thin-film coatings to optical lenses, prisms, and other components using vacuum coating equipment.

  • Help meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  • Identify and report quality or safety concerns.

  • Tag and process non-conforming materials for quality review.

  • Train on and use production tracking and testing software.

  • Learn basic chamber maintenance, metrology, and manual coating equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area while following all manufacturing and safety procedures.

  • Work closely with team leaders, engineers, and production teammates to support daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred; optics or photonics experience is a plus but not required.

  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work while standing or sitting for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. as needed.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet requirements to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.
