Optical Fabrication Technician | $25-$31/hr + 10% Shift Differential | B Shift

 Location: West Henrietta, NY ( not bus line accessible)

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire (based on experience)

Pay:

  • $25.00-$28.00/hr + 10% shift differential (Candidates with foundational optical fabrication experience)

  • $28.00-$31.00/hr + 10% shift differential (Candidates with advanced optical fabrication and CNC optics experience)

Shift:

  • B Shift | Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

Kelly is seeking an Optical Fabrication Technician to join a leading precision optics manufacturer in West Henrietta, NY. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in optical fabrication, CNC machining, precision grinding, polishing, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC curve generation and centering equipment to fabricate precision optical components.

  • Perform lens blocking, beveling, hand grinding, and polishing operations.

  • Inspect optical components using precision metrology equipment to verify specifications and tolerances.

  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.

  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas to support quality and safety standards.

  • Follow cleanroom procedures and PPE requirements.

  • Support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of optical fabrication or related precision manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience operating CNC fabrication, grinding, polishing, or precision machining equipment.

  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, interferometers, or other metrology equipment.

  • Knowledge of optical fabrication, lens manufacturing, grinding, polishing, or centering processes preferred.

  • Basic computer skills; experience with MRP systems such as JDE is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.
