First shift: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Position Overview
Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our clients team to support the fabrication and assembly of custom medium-voltage (MV) switchgear solutions.

This hands-on role will focus primarily on electrical wiring and electro-mechanical assembly, ensuring components are installed, wired, and assembled accurately according to engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience wiring electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment and is comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, electrical components, wiring, and detailed technical documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Wire and assemble medium-voltage switchgear and electrical equipment according to engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  

• Install, route, terminate, and connect electrical wiring, cables, and components to specified requirements.
  

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly of switchgear and related equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  

• Install and secure electrical and mechanical components within equipment and assemblies.
  

• Verify wiring, connections, component placement, and assembly quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  

• Use electrical and mechanical tools and measuring equipment to complete assembly and wiring tasks.
  

• Troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and make corrections as needed.
  

• Perform quality inspections to ensure completed assemblies meet engineering and customer requirements.
  

• Fabricate, fit, drill, fasten, and install components as required to complete assemblies.
  

• Support other manufacturing and fabrication activities as needed, including operation of production equipment.
  

• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  

• Cross-train across multiple manufacturing disciplines to support production demands.
  

• Adhere to all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline required.
  

• 3-20 years of hands-on experience in electrical assembly, electrical wiring, electro-mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  

• Hands-on experience wiring electrical equipment, panels, switchgear, machinery, or other industrial equipment.
  

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
  

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  

• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical/mechanical measuring instruments.
  

• Ability to accurately route, terminate, connect, and secure wiring and electrical components.
  

• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
  

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  

• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  

• Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
