Kelly is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain the condition, safety, and appearance of a facility and its surrounding property.
This hands-on role focuses on building infrastructure and facility maintenance, including general repairs, preventive maintenance, painting, drywall, minor plumbing, carpentry, and upkeep of common areas. This position does not include electrical work or the repair and maintenance of production machinery. Qualified electrical and specialized repairs will be coordinated with approved contractors.
The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship, responds promptly to maintenance needs, and can work independently while following safety procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and general building repairs.
- Inspect the facility and surrounding property for maintenance, safety, and appearance concerns.
- Paint walls, doors, floors, and other facility areas as needed.
- Repair drywall, doors, locks, fixtures, shelving, and other building components.
- Complete minor plumbing and general carpentry repairs within your training and qualifications.
- Maintain offices, common areas, restrooms, storage areas, and exterior spaces.
- Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with qualified contractors for electrical work and other specialized repairs.
- Safely use and maintain common hand and power tools.
- Keep tools, supplies, and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Document completed maintenance work and report unresolved issues as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of painting, drywall repair, minor plumbing, carpentry, and basic building repairs.
- Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and contractors.
- Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various building areas.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Perform hands-on repair and maintenance tasks safely.
Important scope of the role
This position is responsible for maintaining the building, facility infrastructure, and surrounding property. It does not include:
- Electrical work.
- Repair or maintenance of manufacturing or production machinery.
