L4 Validation Technician

Onsite: Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm
Hourly Pay Rate: $29.00/hr W2

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for deploying production-style servers and VMs (Virtual Machines) in a datacenter environment.

  • Maintain production-style servers, setting up and supporting virtual environments, and providing ongoing system administration and troubleshooting support.

  • System (Host and Target) upkeep and troubleshooting (hardware swap, peripheral modifications, host connectivity issues, etc.).

  • Single and multi-system build, configuration, and deployments for both existing and new platforms.

  • Hardware infrastructure installations (patch panels, 1Us, power configuration, full rack installations, etc.).

  • Investigating network errors.

  • HDD/SSD imaging.

  • Maintain client provided inventory management.

  • Execute and report results of web-based test scripts.

  • Disassembly and reassembly of PCs. Replacement of general (HDD) to unique support components (specialty device heat sinks).

  • Execute simple and complex test steps from verbal and written instructions.

  • Own first level debug steps to identify configuration issues. Work with Engineering to troubleshoot to root cause.

  • IT administration – Updating PC’s for required patches, new application revisions, adding user permissions.

  • Execute complex test steps from verbal and written instruction.

 
Requirements:

  • Network virtualization – Experience setting up, configuring, deploying, and maintaining virtual machines (VMs).

  • Docker and Kubernetes experience required.

  • Strong Windows and Linux experience required.

  • Experience with basic system administration, including system updates, application revisions, patches, permissions, and ongoing system maintenance.

  • Experience troubleshooting system and configuration issues and performing first-level debug.

  • Ability to work with Engineering to troubleshoot issues through root cause when needed.

  • Ability to execute and report results of web-based test scripts.

  • Working knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, including component replacement and system connectivity.

  • Ability to create and deploy HDD/SSD images across various PC/server platforms.
