Location: Madison, WI (100% On-Site)
Work Schedule: 10:00pm–8:00am (Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday)
Compensation: $76,000–$79,000/year (base hourly equivalent: $36.54–$37.98/hour) + 15% shift differential + $5,000 sign-on bonus

Join a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) in a cutting-edge 263,000 sq. ft. GMP facility specializing in mammalian cell line engineering, scalable biomanufacturing, and integrated analytical services.
Position Summary:
The Senior Associate – Biomanufacturing, Downstream/mRNA provides advanced process and technical leadership for biopharmaceutical manufacturing within a clean room environment, focusing on mRNA production and downstream processing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and troubleshoot advanced downstream mRNA purification activities, including IVT reactions, chromatography, TFF, viral filtration, bulk drug substance filling, and column packing/qualification.
- Follow Batch Production Records (BPRs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in full compliance with cGMPs, emphasizing right-first-time execution.
- Document all activities according to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) in BPRs, forms, and quality documents.
- Identify and report procedure deviations; proactively recommend safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in and help lead Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, including “Just Do It” projects.
- Mentor junior team members and support onboarding; may serve as Certified Trainer.
- Interact with clients during Person In Plant (PIP) or virtual sessions to provide batch updates.
- Participate in shift huddles and lead shift exchanges.
- Perform general cleanroom housekeeping and maintain 5S standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in scientific or related discipline with 3+ years of experience; OR
- Master’s degree in STEM with 1+ year of experience.
- GMP manufacturing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software systems required.
- Preferred experience with TrackWise, ComplianceWire, JD Edwards, DeltaV, and Unicorn.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom and meet outlined physical requirements.
