Job Description
Position Summary
The Warehouse Receiving Floor Lead oversees daily receiving operations and leads a team of 10–20 warehouse associates. This position ensures inbound shipments are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently by coordinating unloading, inspection, inventory verification, staging, and communication with warehouse management and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of 10–20 warehouse associates during receiving operations
- Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet productivity goals
- Verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, or discrepancies
- Ensure inventory is properly labeled, scanned, staged, and entered into the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving areas
- Train new employees on procedures, equipment operation, and safety standards
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and corrective feedback as needed
- Collaborate with inventory control, shipping, and operations teams to resolve issues
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies
- Assist management with reporting, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Operate forklifts (stand-up, clamp, slip-sheet, EPJ), pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2–5 years of warehouse or distribution experience required
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience managing teams of 10–20 employees in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with WMS systems, RF scanners, and inventory procedures
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Frequently lift and move items up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in warehouse conditions including varying temperatures and noise levels
