Optical Receptionist / Optical Stylist – $18-$20/hr – Canandaigua, NY

At Kelly® Professional & Industrial, we’re seeking a customer-focused Optical Receptionist / Optical Stylist to join a busy and well-established eye care practice in Canandaigua, NY.

This is a hybrid patient-facing, administrative, and optical retail position. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, providing exceptional customer service, and balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll help create a positive patient experience by supporting the front desk, coordinating appointments, assisting with frame and lens selection, verifying insurance benefits, and supporting optical sales and transactions.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday | Office hours approximately 7:45 AM-5:30 PM

  • Thursdays until approximately 6:00 PM

Pay

  • $18.00-$20.00/hour, based on experience

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service

  • Coordinate patient flow throughout the optical department

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits

  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient questions

  • Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on their needs and preferences

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable support throughout the optical shopping experience

  • Support optical sales and process transactions

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming optical retail environment

  • Maintain accurate patient and customer information across multiple computer systems

  • Work closely with the optical and medical teams to ensure a seamless patient experience

  • Assist with other administrative and optical department duties as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous experience in optical, retail, sales, medical office, reception, healthcare, or customer service preferred

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Comfortable working directly with patients and customers

  • Strong computer and typing skills

  • Professional phone etiquette

  • Comfortable assisting customers with product/frame selections and sales support

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to learn optical products, insurance processes, and department procedures
