Job Title: Production Supervisor 5
Location: Kansas City KS 66115 
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $48.00/hrs. on W2
Shift: Currently 1 shift operation. Transitioning to 2 shifts in 2027.
Job Description:

  • Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the quality standards of an assigned area. Communication of department and plant quality metrics.


  • Escalation of issues to all levels of management following escalation guidelines.


  • Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem solving process. Leverage resources to solve quality issues.


  • Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.


  • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.


  • Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).


  • Able to make decisions independently with limited supervision


  • Knowledge of basic technology and standards of area supervised


  • Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex


  • Well developed oral and written communication skills


  • Knowledge of scheduling, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and other management systems


  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output


  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required


  • Knowledge of General Motors Global Manufacturing System


  • College degree preferred


  • High School graduate or equivalent experience required
