Kelly Services is hiring experienced Punch Press Operators for direct-hire opportunities with a growing manufacturing operation in Kearny, NJ.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on metal fabrication experience who is comfortable setting up, operating, and monitoring punch press equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Location: Kearny, NJ
Employment Type: Direct Hire

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
Pay: $26.40–$29.70/hr, including shift premium

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Pay: $28.80–$32.40/hr, including shift premium

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set up and operate punch press equipment to produce metal components

  • Load and unload sheet metal and raw materials

  • Follow work orders, production specifications, and job instructions

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and part specifications

  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed

  • Inspect finished parts for dimensions, quality, and consistency

  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

  • Identify and report equipment or quality issues

  • Perform basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments

  • Maintain accurate production records

  • Keep the work area clean and organized

  • Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE

  • Work closely with production and Quality teams to meet output and quality expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous punch press or metal fabrication experience preferred

  • Experience operating manufacturing or production machinery

  • Ability to read basic blueprints or technical drawings

  • Experience using precision measuring tools

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Dependable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
