Kelly Services is hiring experienced Press Brake Operators for direct-hire opportunities with a growing manufacturing operation in Kearny, NJ.
This position is a strong fit for an experienced metal fabrication professional who can independently set up and operate press brake equipment, interpret prints, and produce accurate formed parts to specification.
Location: Kearny, NJ
Employment Type: Direct Hire
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
Pay: $29.70–$33.00/hr, including shift premium
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Pay: $32.40–$36.00/hr, including shift premium
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, bend specifications, and work instructions
- Calculate and verify bend dimensions, angles, and tolerances
- Load and position material safely and accurately
- Adjust machine parameters to achieve required part specifications
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, angle measuring tools, and other inspection equipment
- Identify defects and make appropriate machine or tooling adjustments
- Troubleshoot basic equipment and production issues
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
- Handle material and completed parts safely
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience operating press brake equipment
- Ability to independently perform machine setup and tooling changes
- Strong blueprint-reading skills
- Understanding of bend allowances, angles, tolerances, and metal-forming requirements
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot machine and part-quality issues
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment
