Job details

Machine Operator – Ground Bar
Location: Grayslake, IL
Pay Rate: $20.90 per hour
Schedule: 2nd shift (2:30PM – 11:00PM); training on 1st shift for a few weeks


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by Cell Lead

  • Read and interpret bills of materials and blueprints

  • Communicate with Cell Lead about discrepancies on drawings or BOM

  • Work closely with Quality Department on inspections and verifying specifications

  • Operate air and power tools to support production

  • Maintain productivity to meet/exceed standards

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures

  • Keep tools and supplies organized and work area clean

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Two or more years of machine operator experience

  • Aptitude for math, problem-solving, and computers (including Excel)

  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency with air/power tools, micrometers, calipers, rulers, tape measures, gages

  • Ability to work independently

  • Physical requirements: continuous standing, moving, reaching, frequent walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Shop environment: exposure to noise, dust, and odors
