Sanitation Technician – 3rd Shift
? Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour?? Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM?? Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (as needed based on business demands)?? Steel-Toe Shoes Required
Position Summary
This is not a janitorial position. The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in food manufacturing by ensuring production equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet strict food safety and quality standards.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with cleaning chemicals, power washers, and specialized equipment. Team members are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling production equipment used to transport and process food products.
Key Responsibilities
Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment and piping systems.
Clean large production kettles, transfer lines, filling equipment, and related machinery according to sanitation procedures.
Operate power washers and sanitation equipment safely and effectively.
Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Properly handle sanitation chemicals and follow all dilution and safety requirements.
Perform Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes and assist with silo cleaning operations.
Complete sanitation logs, inspection forms, and required documentation accurately.
Ensure equipment meets food safety standards and passes Quality Assurance inspections.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with training and supporting other sanitation team members as needed.
Respond to sanitation-related issues and support production schedules.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to dismantle and reassemble equipment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and sanitation procedures.
Knowledge of safety practices, PPE requirements, and chemical handling procedures.
Ability to complete paperwork and maintain accurate records.
Basic computer skills are preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and work on your feet for the entire shift.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb, bend, reach, scrub, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Comfortable working around water, cleaning chemicals, and food processing equipment.
Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy production environments.
Required use of PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and specialized sanitation gear.

Work Environment
This role requires employees to thoroughly clean large food-processing kettles and product transfer systems. Equipment must be cleaned to exact food safety standards, with all product residue removed before inspection and approval by Quality Assurance. Successful candidates are comfortable performing detailed, hands-on cleaning tasks in a manufacturing environment and take pride in maintaining the highest sanitation standards.
