Position Summary
Seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to take ownership of day-to-day facilities operations across three buildings. This onsite role is responsible for opening the buildings each morning, identifying and addressing facility issues, supporting a safe and functional work environment, and establishing practical processes that can grow with the organization. The successful candidate will bring strong facilities and EHS knowledge, sound judgment, and the initiative to lead the function over time. Company-specific procedures and operations will be taught.
Key Responsibilities
-Be onsite five days per week and serve as the primary facilities point of contact for three buildings.
-Start between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. to open the buildings and complete an early-morning walkthrough before employees arrive.
-Inspect for leaks, damage, equipment concerns, security issues, and other conditions that could affect safety or operations; escalate and coordinate corrective action as needed.
-Manage routine facilities activities, including building upkeep, maintenance coordination, repairs, vendors, access, and general site readiness.
-Support a safe, clean, compliant, and productive environment for employees and visitors.
-Apply practical safety and EHS knowledge to identify hazards, reinforce safe practices, document issues, and support corrective actions.
-Create and improve checklists, schedules, preventive maintenance routines, and other foundational facilities processes.
-Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside service providers to resolve issues efficiently and keep work moving.
-Take ownership of an open facilities budget, helping prioritize needs, track spending, and make responsible recommendations.
-Gradually take the lead in developing and managing the facilities function.
Qualifications
-Experience in facilities management, building operations, site services, maintenance coordination, or a related field.
-Working knowledge of workplace safety, EHS practices, hazard identification, and incident or corrective-action follow-up.
-Ability to manage facilities across multiple buildings and balance planned work with urgent issues.
-Comfort with hands-on walkthroughs, early-morning building opening responsibilities, and onsite work five days per week.
-Strong organizational skills, follow-through, communication, and independent judgment.
-Ability to work effectively with vendors, contractors, employees, and leadership.
-Practical, proactive mindset with the ability to establish structure where processes are still being built.
Success in This Role
Success will mean that all three buildings are opened, inspected, maintained, and ready for work each day; safety and EHS concerns are identified and addressed promptly; facilities needs are prioritized responsibly; and clear processes are established so the function can operate reliably and scale over time.
