Production Welder I
Location: West Bend, WI
Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Long-term temporary-to-hire
Kelly® is hiring a Production Welder I for a manufacturing opportunity in West Bend, WI. This position is ideal for an experienced MIG welder who can read blueprints, produce quality weldments, and work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Requirements
- Preferred: Two years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
- Experience setting up and performing manual MIG welding.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and fixture information.
- Ability to use a tape measure, protractor, and square.
- Ability to operate a forklift, saws, ironworkers, and drill presses.
- Ability to lift and move parts up to 75 pounds with assistance from an overhead crane.
- Ability to stand for 9–10 hours per day.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Steel-toe footwear and safety glasses required.
Shift and Hours
First shift:
- Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; or
- Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Friday, 5:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and manually MIG weld using production welding equipment.
- Produce parts according to blueprints, work instructions, and labor standards.
- Verify weld size, length, and location.
- Repair defective welds.
- Remove burrs, scratches, ink, and weld spatter from finished weldments.
- Complete first-piece inspections to verify products meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and report or correct unsafe conditions.
- Communicate with coworkers to maintain production flow.
- Participate in cross-training throughout the welding department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
