Job Details

Position: Quality Technician
Location: Hartland, WI
Shift: 2nd shift: 2:00PM to 10:00PM
Pay: $26–$30/hour, based on experience

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Technician, you will inspect manufactured parts, interpret technical documentation, identify quality concerns, and work closely with production teams to ensure products meet required specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets

  • Determine production requirements and acceptable tolerance limits

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections

  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy

  • Identify and troubleshoot blueprint, routing, and production issues

  • Work with machine operators to resolve parts that are nonconforming or approaching tolerance limits

  • Isolate and properly document nonconforming material

  • Complete inspection reports, return reports, rework orders, and other quality documentation

  • Analyze inspection results and help identify causes of production deviations

  • Communicate tolerance and quality concerns to supervisors and production teams

  • Recommend improvements to quality and manufacturing processes

  • Verify finished products are properly packaged to prevent damage during shipment

  • Follow all quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of related manufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong blueprint-reading and interpretation skills

  • Experience performing dimensional and quality inspections

  • Ability to understand work orders, routings, engineering specifications, and tolerance requirements

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes

  • Ability to troubleshoot quality and production issues

  • Strong math skills, including dimensions, tolerances, proportions, and percentages

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to accurately complete inspection reports and quality documentation

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Measuring Equipment Experience

Candidates should be comfortable using a variety of precision inspection tools, including:

  • Micrometers

  • Calipers

  • Dial indicators

  • Squares

  • Measuring tapes

  • Profile gauges

  • Paint film gauges

  • Other precision measuring and inspection equipment

Knowledge of brake press operations, tooling, and programming is also preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods

  • Regularly handle tools, parts, and measuring equipment

  • Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, climb, or reach

  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

  • Work safely around manufacturing equipment, forklift traffic, and production operations
