Kelly Services is hiring an Accountant for our client, a growing logistics and fulfillment company in Mississauga, to join their Finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who has gained broad experience in a small to mid-sized company and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. You’ll have exposure across different areas of accounting, with the opportunity to take ownership, improve processes, and work closely with the broader business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage key aspects of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and manage accruals and accounting adjustments to ensure expenses are accurately recorded.
- Support customer billing and invoicing, working closely with Operations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with financial cleanup and reconciliation of historical accounts, including resolving unsupported or legacy balances.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation, and month-end procedures.
- Provide hands-on support across various accounting functions and take ownership of projects and priorities as needed.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- CPA designation or CPA studies in progress is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Experience working with accounting systems.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through incomplete or unclear information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence torespectfully challenge processes and recommend improvements.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities may shift.
- Must have own reliable vehicle – not accessible by public transportation.
