Position Overview
Seeking entry level Laboratory Technician I to join our technical team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for completing laboratory testing to support client sales and product line management under the supervision of the laboratory manager. This includes hands-on benchtop and analytical testing, with a focus on applications specific to the energy and chemical industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Plan and complete routine project assignments and contribute to broader technical projects under supervision.
- Sample Preparation: Process incoming materials for testing, including water, hydrocarbon, and rock samples.
- Testing & Experimentation: Operate laboratory equipment safely and adhere strictly to all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Data Management: Utilize lab software, notebooks, and electronic formats to accurately analyze, record, and report experimental and analytical data.
- Reporting: Document results clearly in standardized written reports.
- Safety & Compliance: Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory waste in accordance with safety procedures.
Job Requirements
- Education & Experience: Associate or Bachelor-level degree in Chemistry or a related field, OR 1–3 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or related discipline.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; prior experience in a chemical/industrial lab or with oil and gas chemicals is a plus but not required.
