Kelly Services is hiring a Brazing / Sub-Assembly Technician for a manufacturing opportunity in Taunton, MA.
This role is a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in brazing, silver soldering, sheet metal, plumbing, auto body work, or metal fabrication who is comfortable working with an open-flame torch and assembling metal components.
The primary skill needed is Braze / Silver Solder, working with temperatures of approximately 800–1,200°F.

Hours: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $23–$24/hour
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Brazing / Sub-Assembly Technician, you’ll support manufacturing by joining and assembling metal components using brazing and silver-soldering techniques.
Responsibilities may include:
- Perform braze and silver-solder operations using an open-flame propane torch
- Work at temperatures generally ranging from 800–1,200°F
- Assemble and join metal components according to production requirements
- Heat components evenly to achieve proper material flow and strong joints
- Prepare metal surfaces prior to brazing, including cleaning and positioning components
- Apply appropriate brazing or silver-solder material to joints
- Inspect completed joints for proper bonding, coverage, and workmanship
- Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and production procedures
- Use hand tools and basic metalworking equipment
- Maintain an organized and safe workstation
- Follow all PPE, fire-safety, and manufacturing safety requirements
- Support other sub-assembly and production activities as needed
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of the following:
- Brazing
- Silver soldering
- Torch soldering
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Plumbing
- Auto body repair
- Metalworking
- Mechanical assembly
- Welding or higher-temperature joining processes
Candidates with experience at a higher skill level, such as bronze brazing or torch welding, may also be considered.
Brazing Experience We Need
The primary requirement for this position is:
Braze / Silver Solder
- Open-torch soldering using a propane torch
- Typical temperatures of approximately 800–1,200°F
- Used for joining metal components and sub-assemblies
Experience with basic lead soldering alone may not be enough unless you also have exposure to higher-temperature brazing.
