Department: Data, Digital & Analytics
Location: South San Francisco (Remote)
Contract: 1-year, with possible extension
Experience: 5+ years
Schedule: 25–35 hours/week (up to 40 hours)
Pay Rate: $45/hr

About the Team

Our team is committed to delivering market research, data intelligence, and operational support to ensure the success of our products, customers, and patients. To support these objectives, we engage a range of vendors for services, data, and market research. The management of vendor contracts is essential to ensure compliance, efficiency, and effective business operations.

Contracts are classified as follows:

  • Self-Service Contracts: Simple, low-risk agreements using pre-approved templates. The Analyst serves as a superuser, executing these on behalf of stakeholders.

  • Full-Service Contracts: More complex contracts requiring end-to-end management by a designated Contract Manager, including drafting, negotiation, and execution support.

Position Summary

The Commercial Contracts Analyst II is responsible for the compliant and efficient management of a high volume of contracts, particularly in market research and data purchasing. Acting as the primary process owner and subject matter expert, the Analyst expedites contracts, streamlines operational workflows, and ensures business compliance.

Core Focus Areas:

  • Business Efficiency: Accelerate contract turnarounds, allowing project leads to focus on strategic initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Serve as a key resource for contract process improvement and template optimization.

  • Technical Leadership: Act as a superuser of contracting systems (MyBuy, gMEMORI), providing training and process support.

  • Compliance & Standardization: Enforce standardized templates, monitor trends, enhance best practices, and minimize risk.

  • Financial Oversight: Guide PO structuring, manage invoicing, and resolve related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all contract-related questions, amendments, PO creation, vendor classification, and invoicing.

  • Assess contract requests, advising business partners on self-service vs. full-service processes.

  • Process contracts for market research and data purchases, ensuring alignment with Master Service Agreements, data privacy, and internal policies.

  • Support programs such as the U.S. Market Research and Patient Support Program (MAP), ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Manage contract workflow in MyBuy and Navigator, prioritizing requests for timely execution.

  • Oversee end-to-end PO creation, issuance, monitoring, and coordination with Finance to ensure correct accounting structure and coding.

  • Liaise with vendors, internal stakeholders, and Accounts Payable to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.

  • Identify process issues or delays, troubleshoot or escalate as needed, and ensure contract workflows progress as scheduled.

  • Partner with Commercial Contract Services (CCS) to continuously optimize contracting practices.

  • Lead or facilitate trainings for project owners on contracting procedures and system use.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree or commensurate experience (preferred).

  • 5–10 years’ relevant experience in contract management, procurement, healthcare compliance, or related fields.

  • Proven experience managing market research or data purchase agreements (strongly preferred).

  • Strong understanding of accounting, billing, and PO structure in support of contract operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently navigate and manage contracting systems, and proficiency in Mac OS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to clearly convey process updates to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Results-driven, organized, and able to work independently within set procedures.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks for maximum business impact and deliver continuous process improvements.

  • Skilled in identifying and resolving challenges in contracting and invoicing workflows.

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills; able to manage complex contracting scenarios.

  • Willingness to occasionally interact with global teams outside of U.S. Pacific business hours (e.g., Europe, South America).

  • Occasional business travel by air or car may be required.
