Kelly Science & Clinical has a new temp to hire opportunity for an Scientific Automation Technician in Minneapolis, MN!
A 3 month Temp to Hire Opportunity
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: $25/hour
Position Summary
The Automation Technician supports the manufacturing of ProteinSimple consumables by operating semi-automated equipment to fill liquid products into vials and microplates and package standard vials into pouches. This role also involves equipment setup, cleaning, labeling, documentation, inventory tracking, and compliance with SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate plate fillers, vial-filling equipment, and automated packaging systems.
- Set up, clean, and maintain semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
- Batch, label, and package products accurately.
- Complete batch records, inventory documentation, and other production records.
- Follow work instructions, SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Meet production timelines and quality expectations.
- Perform routine laboratory and manufacturing tasks under supervision.
- Support additional production duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with 1–2 years of relevant experience required.
- Technical or associate degree in mechatronics, automation, biotech manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with laboratory equipment such as pipettes, analytical balances, microscopes, incubators, and degassing equipment required.
- Experience operating automated material-handling equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols, chemical handling, safety procedures, basic calculations, and units of measurement.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and lift items weighing 5–50 pounds.
