Job Overview

Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented Paint Prep associate for a contract opportunity in Mesquite, Texas. In this role, you’ll prepare door slabs and related components for refinishing, verify measurements and milling, make repairs to support quality standards, and prepare surfaces for painting or staining.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint, varnishes, and stains to interior and exterior surfaces.
  

• Prepare surfaces for finishing by removing old paint with appropriate tools and methods.
  

• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints using caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  

• Prime surfaces as needed.
  

• Check measurements, milling, and product quality; identify defects and make repairs as appropriate.
  

• Read and follow work tickets and door or customer quality specifications.
  

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  

• Follow operational and safety procedures.
  

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  

• Previous production-environment experience preferred.
  

• Ability to use air and hand tools efficiently.
  

• Familiarity with paint concepts, practices, and procedures.
  

• Ability to read and understand humidity charts, work tickets, and quality specifications.
  

• Knowledge of sanders, planers, putty knives, sanding blocks, wood chisels, and related tools.
  

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
  

• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  

• Commitment to following all safety and operational procedures.
