Job Title: Logistics Supervisor
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Pay Range: $70,000- $80,000 per year
Shifts: Steady Days; 7:00am- 3:30pm
Work Location: Brantford, ON

The Logistics Supervisor will oversee all warehousing functionalities within the Company which includes but is not limited to, shipping, receiving, inventory stock taken activities, order filling, returns, and transportation arrangements. The supervisor will direct, mentor, train, evaluate, and manage the shipping and receiving staff. The supervisor will supervise and coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments and the preparation of items for shipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and monitor the weekly shipping schedule for inbound and outbound shipments with the Logistics & Shipper/Receiver Lead Hand.

  • Send out RFQ’s to Logistics companies for inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Track and monitor and report to management the shipping/receiving budget.

  • Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bill of lading, commercial invoices, customer invoices etc.

  • Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.

  • Complete yearly application and compliance of the company CVOR.

  • Oversee the creation of shipping labels and scheduled pickups.

  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks and other conveyances.

  • Communicate with the procurement department all deliveries and shipments per each shift, with accurate times trucks will enter and exit the facility.

  • Oversee the inspection and verify incoming goods against purchase orders or other documents, record shortages and inform the procurement department of any damaged goods.

  • Read production schedule, customer order work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.

  • Oversee the conveying of materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or lift truck.

  • Oversee the sorting and place materials or items on racks or shelves, or in bins, according to a predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, colour or product code.

  • Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools and other stock items, and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.

  • Oversee the assembly of customer orders from stock and prepare them to be shipped.

  • Oversee inventory and stock taking activities including perpetual and yearly inventory counts.

  • Mark materials with identifying information (Label).

  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed and input in inventory systems.
Requirements

  • 5- years of shipper and receiver experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Outstanding leadership and team-building skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of major couriers, including how to operate their respective software

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). a must.

  • Experienced with preparing international shipments including customs documents is an asset.

  • Ability to operate a Forklift and Pump Trucks safely and efficiently.
