R&D Laboratory Technician- Teterboro NJ
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare small-scale batches in beakers and scale processes from laboratory quantities to larger batch sizes, including batches up to approximately 2.5 kilograms, to validate manufacturing processes.
  

• Operate laboratory equipment, including mixers, homogenizers, scales, viscometers, pH meters, and specific gravity instruments.
  

• Assist with batch scale-up activities, pilot production, process validation, and remediation projects.
  

• Create manufacturing procedures for Research and Development and update existing procedures to reflect current specifications, processes, and equipment.
  

• Prepare laboratory batches and client samples as needed.
  

• Procure raw materials and required documentation for laboratory batches.
  

• Code and set up new raw materials in applicable systems.
  

• Monitor the quality, consistency, and conformity of formulas and laboratory batches. Follow established SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Technical and Professional Skills

• Basic laboratory skills, including accurate weighing, batching, measuring, sampling, and documentation. Knowledge of laboratory formulation and batch preparation processes. Experience using: Laboratory mixers and homogenizers; Scales and balances; Viscometers; pH meter; Specific gravity instruments

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  

• Experience in skincare, color matching, personal care, or cosmetics and R/D.
  

• Experience preparing small laboratory batches and scaling processes to larger batch sizes is preferred.
  

• Familiarity with formulation development, batch documentation, laboratory instrumentation, and manufacturing process transfer is preferred.
