CNC Machinist – Setup & Operation, Multi-Axis

Location: Huntington Beach, CA 92649
Pay: $33.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m.
Overtime: Mandatory overtime is required. Employees will typically work 9–10-hour shifts and approximately four hours on Saturdays for the next several months.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist who can independently set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level machine operator position.

The ideal candidate will have strong machining fundamentals, sound judgment, excellent inspection skills, and the ability to troubleshoot issues while maintaining efficient production.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills


  • Operate Haas and/or Fadal CNC machines


  • Make program edits at the machine control, including G-code and M-code adjustments


  • Adjust offsets, tooling, and machine settings as needed


  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications


  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments


  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues


  • Make adjustments to maintain accuracy, quality, and production efficiency


  • Meet established production schedules, quality standards, and productivity expectations


  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of CNC machining experience


  • Hands-on experience operating Haas and/or Fadal machines


  • Ability to independently complete machine setups


  • Experience machining the following materials:

    • Aluminum


    • Stainless steel


    • Inconel



  • Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills


  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments


  • Ability to make machine-control program edits and tooling adjustments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience machining aerospace components


  • Experience operating manual mills, lathes, or grinders


  • Experience machining nickel or nickel-based alloys

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government and defense contract requirements


  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


  • Ability to stand for extended periods


  • Must be dependable, proactive, and capable of solving problems independently


  • Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime
