Maintenance Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Bridgeton, MO
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Training on 1st shift)
Pay: $22–$28/hour
Kelly Services is partnering with a manufacturing client in Bridgeton, MO to hire a Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems while ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and support production operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready
- Participate in safety trainings and follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement efforts and adapt to process changes
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in food processing environments preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and schematics
- Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance systems
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Sanitary pipe welding experience (required for Level 2 roles)
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS)
- Building maintenance experience (plumbing, HVAC, concrete repair)
- Experience with steam boilers and air compressor systems
Education
- Associate’s or technical degree in electromechanical, mechatronics, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Additional Requirements
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance
- Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively
- Must be able to pass required pre-employment screenings
