Maintenance Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Bridgeton, MO
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Training on 1st shift)
Pay: $22–$28/hour

Kelly Services is partnering with a manufacturing client in Bridgeton, MO to hire a Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems while ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support production operations

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation

  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready

  • Participate in safety trainings and follow all OSHA and company safety procedures

  • Support continuous improvement efforts and adapt to process changes

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in food processing environments preferred

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and schematics

  • Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance systems

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Sanitary pipe welding experience (required for Level 2 roles)

  • Experience with distributed control systems (DCS)

  • Building maintenance experience (plumbing, HVAC, concrete repair)

  • Experience with steam boilers and air compressor systems

Education

  • Associate’s or technical degree in electromechanical, mechatronics, or related field preferred

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Additional Requirements

  • Strong work ethic with dependable attendance

  • Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively

  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment screenings
