Assembly Operator III
Role Summary:
Kelly Services is seeking a Temporary Assembly Operator III to join our team. This role focuses on the assembly, termination, and testing of fiber optic cable assemblies in a clean room environment. The position supports the entire manufacturing process, from prototypes to production, and involves problem-solving, teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Shift: Weekend, Friday–Sunday, 7AM–7PM Pay Rate: $26.84/hr ($22/hr base, plus shift differential)

Key Responsibilities:
- Polish and test fiber optic cables.
- Assemble and package fiber optic connector components.
- Terminate single and multi-fiber cables.
- Operate fiber router and complete over-molding processes as needed.
- Support builds and testing for prototypes, pre-releases, and NPI products.
- Measure components with calipers, gauges, or other devices.
- Complete operational paperwork for product traceability.
- Troubleshoot and make minor equipment repairs.
- Perform cleaning, contamination assessments, and workmanship checks.
- Operate equipment safely and identify potential issues.
- Suggest process improvements and estimate expected process durations.
- Communicate with team members to ensure high quality and customer satisfaction.
- Inspect products according to quality standards, work instructions, and prints.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, following all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Willing to work overtime to support production goals.
Work Environment:
- Clean room environment requiring use of gowning and PPE (gowns, shoe booties, hair nets, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes).
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience required, with understanding of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with SAP Manufacturing and ISO 9001 preferred.
- Strong hand-eye dexterity and motor skills for detailed tasks.
- Experience with hand tools and blueprint reading preferred.
- Comfortable working with small parts under a microscope.
- Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow bills of material, job routers, and engineering drawings.
