Kelly Services is seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to lead our anodizing and electroplating facility in the Raleigh, NC area!
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily activities across plating lines
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency
- Ensure that production schedules and quality standards are met
Process Management
- Oversee plating processes, including bath chemistry, racking, and finishing
- Maintain and troubleshoot tanks, rectifiers, filtration, and wastewater systems
- Resolve production issues related to coating quality, adhesion, thickness, and defects
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor production staff (operators and supervisors)
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist with staffing decisions
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Enforce OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory compliance
- Oversee handling and storage of hazardous chemicals
- Maintain safety programs, PPE usage, and incident/injury reporting
Inventory & Materials Management
- Manage chemical, raw material, and supply inventory
- Coordinate with purchasing to ensure adequate stock
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors in engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience in anodizing, electroplating, or metal finishing
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of anodizing/electroplating (sulfuric anodizing, hardcoat, zinc, nickel, chrome plating)
- Proficient in chemical bath control, titration, and wastewater systems
- Knowledge of industry quality standards and testing methods
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Excellent team leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, and industrial equipment
- Use of PPE required
- May include extended hours or weekends as production needs dictate
