Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in University Park, IL. Candidate must have experience with:

  • Millwright

  • Welding

  • Electrical/plumbing/mechanical

  • HVAC

Pay: $31/hr. – $37/hr.
Hours: Mon-Fri daytime hours

Job duties

  • Knowledgeable on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding and HVAC to perform repairs on all facility equipment as required

  • Possess ability to determine when a repair should be escalated to an outside contractor

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all facility equipment as required

  • Responsible to perform daily equipment and site inspections as required

  • Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or breakdowns

  • Ability to enter confined spaces as needed to perform necessary repairs

  • Provide operational guidance and recommendations to ensure equipment operates smoothly to minimize equipment breakdowns

  • Escort contractors to specific areas to service equipment within the University Park facility; ensure proper lock out/tag out procedures are followed prior to any service

  • Support maintenance, repair with any troubleshooting as it relates to the maintenance of the facility and equipment

  • Attend any required training necessary for the job

  • Comply with policies on hygiene, safety, and quality

  • Review the specific SDS for all controlled products; use the correct Personal Protective Equipment, how to handle the product, know where to find the information for each controlled product

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP’s and HACCP requirements

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Experience/Education needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • HVAC, Millwright, Welding, Electrical experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting

  • Must be able to lift up 50 pounds on a regular basis

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; individual must also be able to bend over, stoop and squat as needed

  • Must possess a strong worth ethic and strong attention to detail

  • Willing to work in a dusty and noisy work environment at all times

  • Forklift and Reach Truck certification is required
