Patient Care Connect Representative
Overview:
The Patient Care Connect Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting patient scheduling and coordination, particularly within Orthopedics and other specialty clinics. The primary focus is on managing high-volume appointment scheduling, assisting patients with access to care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining a positive patient experience. The coordinator will interact with providers, front office staff, and operations teams to facilitate daily workflows in a fast-paced, high-call-volume environment.
Location:
- Training held in Los Angeles, then ongoing work based in Torrance, CA.
- 100% onsite; remote or hybrid work is not available.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Pay range: $22.00–$30.00 per hour, with higher rates for bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) and/or those with Orthopedics or specialty clinic experience.
- Work hours: 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday – Friday.
- Business casual/clinic-appropriate attire.
- Parking provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient registration and appointment scheduling, including eligibility verification and authorizations.
- Coordinate care among patients, providers, and clinical teams, acting as a liaison to ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system.
- Address patient inquiries, resolve issues, and facilitate access to clinic and financial assistance resources.
- Guide patients through procedures, provide information, and assist with post-care instructions.
- Support clerical duties, including gathering demographics, insurance information, and referral documentation.
- Help patients navigate clinic processes and utilize online patient portals.
- Uphold professionalism, compassion, and strong customer service at all times.
Must-Haves:
- Comfortable working in a busy call center environment.
- Experience in healthcare or medical office settings, especially with scheduling.
- Background in high-volume patient scheduling or call center work.
- Strong customer service and patient communication skills.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and multitasking in fast-paced clinics.
- Professional, polished appearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English—highly preferred.
- Experience in Orthopedics or other specialty clinics.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and referrals.
- Prior access center or patient navigation experience.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2+ years of healthcare scheduling, patient access, or front office experience preferred.
