Quality Assurance Supervisor- Permanent Position- Richmond VA
About the Role
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily QA operations, including record review, material and product release, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role ensures that all products meet FDA, corporate, and customer requirements, while supporting site operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage QA review of production batch records, laboratory data, and related documentation for disposition of materials and finished products.
- Oversee the release of products and components, including issuance of Certificates of Analysis.
- Monitor QA performance metrics (cycle time, backlog, productivity) and implement improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Act as QA point of contact for site teams and Customer Quality groups.
- Support new product launches, line extensions, and customer initiatives by ensuring QA deliverables are met on schedule.
- Ensure SOPs, laboratory methods, and QA procedures remain compliant with regulations (FDA, GMP, GLP, BOH).
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and ensure proper training and adherence by team members.
- Recruit, train, and develop QA staff to build a capable, cross-trained, and collaborative team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related scientific field required.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, product release, or related functions within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, GLPs, and relevant regulatory standards.
- ASQ or Six Sigma certifications preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and with customers.
- Solid technical background in QA and laboratory operations.
- Experience with Document Control, Stability, Annual Product Review and Complaint Processes
- Experience in Deviation Investigation (RCA) and CAPA execution
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement improvements.
